This novel, although pretty decent for a romance novel (sorry romance genre writers) is the least fun out of the Calhoun set. It's the typical guy puts foot in mouth, woman isn't what she seems ploy that Roberts uses often. Granted, there is only so many ways to heterosexual people hook up while including Western society mores, so no big deal. You might be able to skip it as important pieces of the larger story arc really don't occur here and are mentioned in the following novel in this series. If you do buy it, you most likely will think it's all right.

It's Nora! Yes, I am definitely prejudice. You won't get an unbiased opinion from me about one of my most favorite authors. She writes it, I buy it. Yes, some of the newer ones coming out digitally are not the same quality as current endeavors. I read them when they were print and found them very entertaining. Don't compare. Just read.
If you have read anything by Nora Roberts, you know she never fails to enlighten your mind. It's a romantic story about four sisters and their families. It's also about this beautiful place where they live. She brings it to life. You feel like you're in the tower relaxing with Lilah and walking along the cliffs with her when she dives into the raging sea to rescue a lost soul. It's about love, life and intrigue. There is even a spirit from their past who helps them find a lost emerald necklace and revisits a lost love affair. If you read one, you must read them all. There are five stories and each one helps to spin the tale of life and romance. When it comes to well written stories about romance and life , you can't beat Nora Roberts. Nora, you're the best!
Lilah's character is simply brilliant. As well as the Professor's. As well as the villain's point of view scenes. Utterly enjoyable.
Lovely HEA with just enough touch of suspense to add to the enjoyment
I'm an avid Nora Roberts reader and I loved the trilogies Sign of Seven, Circle, InnsBoro, Donovan Legacy, Irish Born, Keys, etc. This was towards the bottom of the list in comparison to the others I mentioned but a great and romantic plot.
I read all four Calhoun books. When I'm reading for relaxation I'm not looking for a thrill a minute. Nora is funny and keeps me coming back.
This is such a great book, that I look forward to going back and reading these stories again like some that I already have, and I am impatient to read the rest of Nora Roberts' stories right now. Hot, Hot, Hot, love scenes, a well written, creative and intriguing story about family plus inventive, vivid characters, all on top of seriously wonderful love and romance. Each story is about one key person, usual in a family, or close group of friends, they are linked through intricate, messy links and it's almost like a movie you get the privilege of witnessing about these people's powerful, emotional, and often times painful journey towards falling in love. Roberts is one of my most favorite author's, and she doesn't disappoint in this series. Her unique style and classy, yet moving love scenes, paint a beautiful picture that leaves a person longing for something similar for themselves. All of that is combined into this fantastic series and make this book a "must-have"!!!! I didn't want to set it down....seriously!! Lol I was nodding off over my book on several different occasions. Worth the price and more to have a Nora Roberts book in your library collection!!!!!!
